Greetings from Paratherm,

(This is message 6 in the About Paratherm Series)

The User's Guide to Heat Transfer Fluids/Systems is a series of technical data sheets covering the operation and maintenance of heat transfer fluids, and the systems running them.

Paratherm has been building up this technical library ever since its founding in 1988.  Each technical data sheet is from one to two pages long, and each one covers a specific technical subject.  We are still creating new ones, though more slowly now than when we started out.  At this point, there are well over a dozen.  Before email and the internet, they were printed on paper.  Now, they are available online, and via email, and as PDF documents as well as printed.

These articles differ from Paratherm's TipSheet series in depth mainly.  They cover some of the same topics, but with more detail and specificity.

Previously, Paratherm required registration to view the internet version of the User's Guide, but in 2010 removed the registration requirement, opening the information for public use.  The directory page for the User's Guide is at this link: User's Guide

In place of the required registration, you may now voluntarily subscribe to the User's Guide to Heat Transfer Fluids/Systems. You'll find the subscription form at the same link.  It requires only your name and email address to begin recieving the messages every three weeks or so.

Below is the current listing of topics that are sent in the User's Guide subscription.   There are additional sheets available online but not included in the emails.

  1. Analyzing Your Fluid
  2. Draining, Cleaning. Flushing and Charging
  3. Fire Prevention in Heat Transfer Systems
  4. Fouling in Heat Transfer Systems
  5. Water in Thermal Fluid Systems
  6. Oxidation in Heat Transfer Fluids
  7. Recommended High-Temp System Components and Suppliers
  8. Significance of Flash and Fire Points in Heat Transfer Fluids
  9. Fluid Degradation Causes and Cures
  10. Thermal Fluid System Leakage
  11. A Comparison: Thermal Fluid Vs. Steam
  12. How to Easily Track the Performance of Your Heat Transfer System

Again, this is a separate subscription from the TipSheet. If you've already subscribed to the TipSheet, we invite you now to subscribe to the User's Guide.
